Dr. Alysha Farrell
Dr. Alysha Farrell is the Dean of Education at Brandon University. She is passionate about nurturing ecosophical orientations in the study of curriculum, pedagogy, and educational leadership. As Dean, Dr. Farrell is an ex officio member of the CARES advisory.

Dr. Jacqueline Kirk
Dr. Jacqueline Kirk is the Chair of Graduate Studies and a member of the Department of Leadership and Educational Administration at Brandon University. Jackie grew up on a farm outside of a small community in rural Saskatchewan and cares deeply about the continued success of rural communities and schools. As the Chair of Grad Studies, she is an ex officio member of the CARES advisory.

Dr. Aloysius Anyichie is an assistant professor in the Department of Educational Psychology and Student Services in the Faculty of Education at Brandon University. He is interested in supporting all learners’ engagement and motivation in multicultural classrooms. His term ends in 2024, with the option to serve 2 more years.

Dr. Zahra Kasamali is an assistant professor in the Department of Curriculum and Pedagogy at Brandon University. Her term ends in the spring of 2025, with the option to serve for 2 more years.

Chief Karen Batson
Chief Karen Batson is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Health Studies at Brandon University and was the Chief at Pine Creek First Nation from 2017-2021. Her term ends in the spring of 2024, with the option to serve for 2 more years.

Valerie McInnes
Valerie is a BU Grad student working to complete her Masters's in Education Administration. She is also the Life Long Learning Bundle Holder for Earth Lodge First Nations Treaty 2 Territory. She brings over 30 years of experience in education in the provincial K-12, Indigenous K-12, and post-secondary systems. Valerie is passionate about student success and teacher development at all academic levels. Her term will end spring of 2025.
