Community organizations and researchers working together
BU CARES is a conduit for connecting community organizations to the work happening at Brandon University. Whether you are looking for researchers to collaborate with you on a new initiative, find answers to a question that you have, or find someone who has dedicated their career to studying the topic you need to know about, we’ve got you covered.
Here’s how it works:
1
Give us a call and share your idea with us. All research starts with a good question, and we will help you brainstorm, think of potential funding sources, and appropriate research methods to find your answers.
2
Once we have a clear understanding of the project, we match you with a faculty member who conducts research and has expertise in that area. We may also bring students along with us on the journey.
Together with the faculty member, you will collaboratively determine things like timelines, purpose, scope, resources, ethics, roles, and research design, as well as how the final outcomes can be disseminated.
Whether you are a school, school division, not-for-profit, business, government, or other community organization, we encourage you to consider becoming a member of BU CARES Research Centre. Membership allows you to remain connected to the work we do, receive bi-monthly updates about our latest news and events, and gives you eligibility to attend our activities (seminars, research training, workshops, etc.).
